Serenity

Tonight at our Mosaic service we are going to be focusing on the inward self. Our theme this year is the 'secret life' and tonight we are going to be focusing on this inward life that we must sharpen, maintain and develop in order to cultivate a deeper relationship with God.

We will have 6 different spiritual stations:

Silence
Lectio Divina
Centering Prayers
A.C.T.S Model of Praying
Fasting from Food
Fasting from Media

Self Control

We are once again having a high school youth group super bowl party. Last time the Steelers were in this position, I wasn't really proud of how I behaved. Lets just say when the Steelers won I gave it right back to the student who had been giving me a hard time the whole night.

I'm gonna try to be civil this year, but some of these students make it so hard.

walmart

i like to say hi to the wal mart greeters before they can say hi to me

sometimes i wonder what the people are thinking who ring me up. teen ministry requires me to make a lot of bizarre purchases. my cart (buggy for my friend steve) today had in it:

10 gallon plastic tub
2 padlocks
sticky tack
5 cans of E-Z Cheese

elsie

fatherhood is slowly becoming reality...it doesn't feel as life-changing as i thought it would (other than the lack of sleep at the very beginning) i think most people told me how much it would change my life that it feels a little anti-climatic...

but elsie has been alot of fun recently...she is making lots of fun sounds and smiles at us a alot...especially after she has eaten...must get that from me...

katie is a wonderful mother and i am amazed by her daily...

here is a recent picture of elsie...
